  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 ground chuck)
  • 1 small onion, peeled and grated
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 can (14 ounces) button mushrooms, drained and sliced

For the Gravy

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
